Yesterdays cake was for Issa who turned 7 as requested by her Mum Charie Fontanilla. Its Ube cake with Frozen theme. Credits to Crosby Cakes found in Flickr. As this was an emergency one, I had to use toy figures (not that theres anything wrong using toy figures, I do it too). The weather was hot as opposed to the predicted storms so the buttercream wasnt holding very well. The 2 towers were glow sticks in a glass test-tube-like container. I think the fondant covered ice cream cones were too heavy and it cant stay standing still. I decided not to place it on during cake time as I was afraid it will fall and break to small pieces. I also wasnt able to put the triangle gumpaste backdrop (sprinkled with blue sugar and dusted with edible glitters ) onsite as little cheeky monkeys started nibbling on it :) I like the lace on fondant that served as the balcony railing on top of the castle and the castle gates and Queen Elsas cape, and snowflakes. Trees were mini ice cream cones covered with gumpaste. I had to free cut those as my gumpaste was too wet to cut using daisy cutters. Oh and I also love that piping gel which I coloured blue that served as the river. And the little icicle floating above Elsas hand. Lots of snowflakes confetti and edible glitters. But all in all everyone liked it especially the celebrant. Hope you like it, too.
