While my pastor spoke of honouring a commitment before God, and criticizing the increased rate of divorce, all I could do was look at the man sitting two pews ahead of me, who beats his wife. I was so annoyed because that lady has to sit and be told that she has to compromise, try to make it work, try to make him happy: maybe by cooking better, or looking prettier, or heave her chest less while breathing; because if she doesnt, if she decides she has had enough, she is DISHONOURING GOD. I assure you today, that God is a God of life. That means freedom, justice and equality. He will never require of you to stay abused, to stay in bondage. He wishes you life. Life which supersedes law. Dont be scared. God is on your side.
