... Yet the case of two japanese macaques from the Olomouc Zoo at the beginning of 2010 had a different scenario. Technicians must have thought they were dreaming seeing the empty yard, where the two macaques had been moved for their coarse behaviour. The breakout of Šimpy and Tatin began on 22nd of July 2010. Soon after they had left the zoo, they parted ways and each wandered its own direction. Tatin macaque headed due north-east from Olomouc. He was seen at several points, a few ten kilometeres away from the town and he stayed at the military area Libavá for some time. The last record is from February when he was seen in the north-western part of Moravia. Šimpy went due north and was seen in following six months at a number of localities near the villages of south margin of Nízký Jeseník Mountains. Later he wandered westward. In the middle January 2011 he was seen at Vysocina. There his trip began to draw to the end. On 24th January 2011 in the afternoon, near Liciborice, Chrudim region, he was caught and brought back to the zoo in Olomouc. From the beginning of the trip, Šimpy traveled more than one jundred kilometres, he was able to adapt to the situation and survive in the environment which was unknown to him. He fed himself mainly of fruit and vegetables from gardens. In cases of danger, he used to climb on trees. The main menace were humyns. They wanted him back as an attraction in their carefuly kept fun house.
