Yey for teasers. Story about Kaine Celericordis. WIP The Arrival She trudged through the forested hills, her feet quite tired from the day’s slogging. She had taken the long way around a bog earlier in the day, only to be rewarded by hills of rather annoying orientations, some of which had to be gone around rather than up. She had found this quite annoying, almost as annoying as the fact that she was looking for something, but did not know exactly what it was she was looking for. Sighing as she tried to keep her head up, she squinted at the setting afternoon sun, which heralded dusk within the hour. Her food was running low, and she did not relish spending another night on the flatlands, so she prayed to whatever higher powers there were that she would find her target soon. As if to answer her prayer, a slight thrumming met her ears and she registered movement around her. Had she had time to call out, she would have done so in her best friendly manner, but she had barely opened her parching mouth when a voice spoke out. “Halt, traveler. Move not one step further.” A female’s voice rang out, young, but strong. Its speaker was revealed as a strange creature rose majestically from some of the grass of the hilly land. A female humanoid, with lightish skin and dark brown hair, wearing leather hunter armor and carrying a bow, pointed at her. She would have been quite a beautiful human, except she clearly wasn’t. Large rabbit ears rose from the top of her head, standing erect and alert. Her intelligent eyes scanned Kaine’s own, probably trying to divine her intentions. “Please remove your hood and identify yourself, and explain why you are trespassing on Viera lands.” Kaine lowered her hood, revealing her dark skin and raven-black hair. She smiled slightly at the speaker, before opening her mouth to speak.
