Yippy Yahoo! Our Portland Loos are on their way. The City Council approved the purchase of these unique public restrooms four years ago. And now, finally, we have cleared our own red tape, re-engineered the loos to meet California code, and are ready to receive these shiny gems. I actually visited our loos while in Portland this summer. Here they are, shiny and new, on pallets at Madden Custom Fabricators. They should be delivered around the middle of this month, and installed in the East Village area by January. Thank you to our Portland colleagues for creating this great urban solution for the public’s need to “go”, our City Engineers and Civic San Diego for pushing this project along, and heartfelt thanks to the Girls Think Tank and Waterman David Ross for their advocacy.
