Yknow its funny here it is 1:30 in the morning and Im getting some last minute work done and Im watching this old YouTube video and I go... Dang were living in a better future than they predicted in 1967 https://youtube/watch?v=EC5sbdvnvQM - although its funny when you think about it - weve got everything theyre using here but its in ONE device that can be smaller than a paper notebook and probably a whole lot cheaper than this set up would have been. I mean in the other room my mom is checking e-mails on her tablet, while Im filing work reports on a laptop that barely weighs a couple of pounds, meanwhile my cell phone is informing me of the weather tomorrow and is set to remind me on Saturday that Doctor Who is on. We get upset when one of our devices stops working or acts funny Alas we still have to go to actual workplaces but there are enough that can telecommute or everything they need to do they can do from a laptop and a smart phone anywhere in the field. Sometimes I think we have to be reminded of just how amazing the technology we have around us truly is. Even Facebook - were able to communicate with people hundreds if not thousands of miles away as if they were just in the next room. We can share pictures with a few clicks of a mouse and memories that only lived in a shoe box can be saved and shared with everyone. News that used to take maybe all day to hear about, we can get updates instantly and from multiple sources. We play games that dont require any kind of cartridge to get lost or need to be blown out. We can listen to music that doesnt require even owning a physical copy and what used to take a whole shelf to store, can fit on a phone or tablet or on a memory card or drive thats smaller than a finger. In other words... we are in the future! NOW WHERE ARE MY DANG FLYING CARS!?
