Yo, Check This Out... Its The Sunday Morning Sports Page The Hall Is Open, Football Is Back Good morning, I was really worked up last weekend and I still dont understand Roger Goodell. Ray Rice did have a press conference this week to apologize and to explain the situation. He ask for forgiveness and pledged to become a better person. My question, do you buy it? Im not judgemental, I dont care for the act of what happened, but if the guy is totally sincere, give him a second chance. I want to empathize, what he did was WRONG!!! And will never be accepted by me and most of you guys out there, but America loves a good comeback story, in time we will see if he can redeem himself. Im a baseball guy first, and since the NFL is the biggest sports league in the world, they took away the spotlight from the Hall Of Fame inducttions from last weekend. Congratulations to Maddox, Glavine, Frank Thomas, LaRussa, Torre and Bobby Cox. I really enjoyed all the speeches, but when all the living members were introduced, thats the greatest feeling for the true fan. It was really not the same, since we lost Tony Gwynn and Ralph Kiner. The trade deadline was on Thursday, and I have to give big time credit to the Oakland As, they were really active, making moves and loading up on starting pitching, but the move that Detroit made to get David Price from Tampa Bay, was bold and shocking as heck. I have to give Detroit a slight edge to make it to the World Series. Its going to be tough for my Os to face a rotation with the past 3 AL. Cy Young Award winners. We all know who the biggest loser was, and they are not even worth the mention. Baseball season isnt over yet, but this weekend is usually the biggest weekend for everyone in the world. The NFL Hall Of Fame opened its doors for its newest members, and its time to welcome back football. Congratulations to the Class Of 2014. Ray Guy, the first ever Punter to inter the Hall. Derrick Brooks, was the heart and soul of that championship Tampa Bay Buccaneers teams defense. Aeneas Williams, was a hard hitting Corner and Safety, that was instrumental in the success of the Cardinals and the Rams. Williams really moved the crowd with his enthusiastic and religious speech. Former Falcon and Eagle Claude Humphrey spoke of his days with his former coach Jerry Glanville. He did not have any trust in him, since he was leaving tickets at the box office for Elvis Presley. Michael Strahan, called himself Mr. Improbable, and called his journey the same. He mentioned jokingly, the fact that he was afraid Lawrence Taylor, and that Taylor slept through most of the team meetings. Andre Reeds speech was great, he recognized his teammate and fellow Hall Of Famer Jim Kelly, they had a formula that 12 plus 83 equalled 6, which worked many times in Buffalo. Walter Jones was the final member of the class, a five time pro bowl player, and he was a member of the first Seattle Seahawks team that reached the Super Bowl, only to be outlasted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have an announcement. I have been writing this page for about a year and a half, I have been doing this for fun, and this is something I truly enjoy. I never thought of this thing would be get pretty far, but I wanted you all to know that someone out there, kinda likes me. I have been asked to write for an online sports agency, with the focus on baseball. The offer is out there, and I have to think it over. If I find out more info, I will let you all know the deal. Finally, for all you fantasy football dudes, I created a league last night Third And Long on ESPN, the draft day is August 30th at 9am. For my usual suspects, you will be getting a personal invite. Its going to be high flying and a lot of scoring, so if you want in, get in. Oh yeah, I went to see Get On Up the other day, it was great, check that out if you can. Thanks again for checking out the Sports Page. Have a great week ahead. See you all back here next week. Adiós
