Yoga… Jazz…. In many of my classes I made parables between the two to get my point across. For thousands of years the path of yoga has been described as an upward journey, full of obstacles; much like that of climbing a mountain and on this path a guide; a Guru is of utmost importance. I had a Guru, I was a disciple and it was the most painful and difficult time of my life. I hated him, more than any other man I ever met (f-k you Viseshananda - I love you) He pushed all my buttons. I have also been a teacher, trying to push buttons - in the fitness, spiritual, new age, happy go lucky setting of modern yoga where the students ego must be pleased for them to come back and continue their study. But truthfully - in this way it is impossible to climb any mountain of obstacles - so in this setting I just aspire to share some inspiration rather than climbing any mountain with any one. Understand that Yoga is the ultimate journey of life. Properly practiced it will take you to the deepest and furthest realms of the psyche and to the highest states of consciousness available to a soul in human form. Through yoga - Life, God and all can be known. But not without sacrifies and unflinching determination - all has to be given up in the end to reach the goal. Anyways… I just saw a movie that blew me away. It described and showed so many things, just as they where, from my own life, my journey. Everything from the pain, the frustration, the determination, the sacrifies of love, life and limb I my self had to go through including the light at the end is in this film. Watch it. Maybe it speaks clearly to you too. Or maybe it was produced just to provide me with the encouragement I need to push a little further… Yoga is the ultimate journey of life. Properly practiced it will take you to the deepest and furthest realms of the psyche and to the highest states of consciousness available in human form. Through yoga life, God and all can be known.
