Yoko Kanno didnt only compose the jazzy, funky and blues-y musical score for the Cowboy Bebop anime series, bui also inspired the series creators, when it came to designing one of the Bebops crew members: Radical Edward, full name: Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV Originally, Eds character was based on a description of the series music director, Yoko Kanno (a little weird, catlike, but a genius at creating music), and was first developed as a dark-skinned boy. It was changed to even the gender ratio on the Bebop, which was, with Ed as a boy, three males and one female. Heres a best-of collection of Ed scenes (with English subtitles):
