You Are The Salt of The Earth Matthew 5: 13-15 Jesus was a teacher. Several times throughout the New Testament, he is instructing and giving teaching moments. Todays sermon topic is taken from The Sermon on The Mount. Jesus states that his disciples are The Salt of the Earth. He is careful to use the word the to let disciples know he is referencing them. He is distinguishing them and differentiating them from the many other salts that there are. Jesus wants them to know that they are the type of salt that will make a powerful and positive impact on this world. Jesus also states that his disciples are The Light. This means that they are to show the way to salvation. They are tasked with setting and example and helping to lead others to discipleship. Remember that Jesus was a man of action. If we are believers, let us do as the word Christian means, and that is to be Christ-like. Let us take action and be the disciples and men and women that God calls us to be!
