You Must Be Born Again Christmas always seems to bring out the best and worse in humans. Christians, who have been filled with the Holy Spirit radiate the love and joy that comes from God within them; while the unsaved are void inside. That void leads to depression, anxiety, and a feeling of hopelessness. Mankind was created to be whole and to walk with God. The sin that entered the world caused man to lose their connection to God. Coming to Christ to receive forgiveness of sins causes us to be born again. Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. How can someone be born when they are old? Nicodemus asked. Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mothers womb to be born! Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3:3-8 (NIV). Something divine and wonderful takes place in us when we are born again of the spirit! Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting peoples sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (NIV). Love is one of the main attributes of a born again Christian. We love because He (God) first loved us. Whoever claims to love God, yet hates a brother or sister, is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, Whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:19-20 (NIV). Love is what caused God to send His Only Begotten Son, Jesus (Yeshua) to earth to save us from Hell and destruction. For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) (Yeshua) shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him (Jesus) (Yeshua) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of Gods One and Only Son. John 3:16-18 (NIV). When we confess our sins, God will draw us to His Son, Jesus, who paid the price in our place for forgiveness. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His Word is not in us. 1 John 1:9-10 (NIV). The first Christmas was the birth of our lord and Savior, Jesus (Yeshua). Christmas literally means Christ Mass, a celebration of Christ. We celebrate Jesus birth because He came to us to deliver us from our sins and judgment when He was cruelly whipped, beaten, ridiculed, spit on, humiliated, and crucified so that we would not have to die or go to Hell; but, that we would live forever with Him as kings and priests of the Most High God. For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say No to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope: the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2:11-14 (NIV). Through our faith reaching out to Jesus mercy and grace, we are born again of our spirits. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:23 (NIV).
