You an also use the crust in this recipe for the best crust ever...just use sugar instead of salt(as noted) Title: Pasties Description: Can be made with lean beef instead of venison. Always Mmm-Mmm-Great! Makes 6 medium pasties. Ingredients: Crust: 3 cup flour 1 tsp salt (or sugar if being used in making pie crust) 1/2 cup lard 1 cup water Mix as a pie crust. Divide dough into 6 portions. Filling: 6 cups diced potatoes 2 large onions, diced. 1 1/2 lb venison. 3 tbsps suet, chopped fine salt and pepper to taste mix together Directions: Roll portions of dough into a circle. Place filling into center. Bring 2 sides up to center, brush with water to seal the edges. Crimp edges. Slash a hole in the top to let steam escape. Place on cookie sheet and about 45 minutes in a 375 oven. Number Of Servings:6 Preparation Time:1.25 hr. (including bake time)
