You are cordially invited to attend my back-to-back talks on Saturday, August 23 in San Diego or Sunday, August 24 in Pasadena about what linguistics can inform us about interpreting. Discourse Analysis as a Tool for Studying Language Use in the Courts, 1.5 hours, # L3357 What Linguistics Can Teach the Translator/Interpreter, 1.5 hours, # L3358 The San Diego talks will take place in room 428C, 4th Floor, Love Library, San Diego State University from 12:15 - 1:45 and from 2:00 to 3:30, respectively. Parking is along College Ave. Since it’s the weekend, lots should be wide open. The Pasadena talks will take place at 871 E. Washington Blvd Suite 205, Pasadena, CA 91104 from 1:00 - 2:30 and 2:45 - 4:15, respectively. Parking in the lot next door or on the street. To RSVP by August 22, please contact rachaelesills@gmail. About the instructor: Rachael Sills, MA, studied linguistics and applied linguistics in graduate schools in Mexico and the US. She is a former CCI-Spanish who currently lectures on linguistics.
