You can fairly easily rebuild the front Bella swingarm shock - TopicsExpress

You can fairly easily rebuild the front Bella swingarm shock absorber. The top attachment (that holds the top to the fork) is screwed off after CAREFULLY drilling out and completely removing the single rivet. Remove nut and washers and pull of the upper shock cover. Then remove the spring. Then remove the dampener as a single unit. Unscrew the top cap and dump out the thin runny old oil. Inspect. Replace with 80-90 weight gear oil. Only takes about 20 ml or so. Notice the dampening will be more difficult to pull. This is good! Reassemble. The spring is responsible for dulling the downstroke, the dampener is responsible for slowing the upstroke. If your Bella bounces it is because the dampener is not working well. TIP: If you do not carefully remove all the rivet in the first step, you will tear all the threads on the upper cap and will then need to JB weld the cap back on and hope you never need to get in there again!
