You can get a lot for $25,000. That much cash will buy you a 22-foot sailboat, a month at a posh resort in the Cayman Islands, a rare 1913 Australian stamp, a single bottle of 1999 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet, or 10,000 hot dogs. Oh yeah, it can also get you a brand-new car. Not the best car on the market, of course. Twenty-five large is, in fact, below the average sale price of a new vehicle in America, which the Federal Trade Commission pegs at $28,400. Still, a $25K ride is definitely not a bargain-basement econobox, either.
