You can’t really sum it up in one word, said 1st Sgt. Justin Barry, Company A, Wolverine Battalion (4-1 BSTB). To go and see where so many Americans lost their lives, but then also knowing how many Americans kept pushing forward – that I will not stop type of attitude the Soldiers had then and being able to translate that to the way that I was as a young private to where I am now in my career. It will kind of sum it up all together. I had a never will quit attitude. No matter how hard the mission was, I did everything to the best of my ability to accomplish that mission. Barry is just one of the more than 20 Soldiers of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, and Commanding Generals Mounted Color Guard who are in France to help commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. The Big Red One had a key role in the World War II invasion, coming ashore on Omaha Beach. For more, go to army.mil/article/127144 and the70th-normandy.
