You do reap what you sow.... As I am making breakfast for my littles this morning, I cut my finger. The cut is bad enough I have to stop, apply pressure, wrap, etc. the littles heard me gasp when it happened and came to check it out. Grant, says oh mommy that looks like it hurts. How much time will this mean I have to wait for my breakfast to be ready now? Drew, Grant cant you see mom has blood running down her hand? Grant, yes, shell live! This is definitely my reaction when the boys get hurt. I am calm, check the seriousness and we move on. I try not to be dramatic and may seem to lack compassion. I am really not lacking compassion, I just dont want them to learn ever minor situation requires blaring red lights and a trip to the emergency room to find out that it is a paper cut. So, perhaps next time I will give a little extra kiss on their booboo before I ask when they will be finished cleaning their room.
