You dont have to understand this craziness or even approve of it. But it has raised awareness for a disease that has no cure. We can say the word cancer and everyone knows what it is and probably have someone in our life that is affected by it.... And many, have survived it. But ALS isnt one of those words.... So if dumping ice water on your head helps get people aware and donations to the cause, please, keep it going. If doing so isnt your cup of tea (and we get it, many people have been harmed in trying to be brave with this challenge), you can just donate to the cause without all the shenanigans - its actually a lot easier. Go to alsa.org and click Donate. And while youre there, take a moment to learn about the diesease. Become a real advocate and get involved. Your time outside the 15 minutes of fame on Facebook and YouTube will go much further. But whether you pour a cup, a garbage can, or a backhoe bucket of ice water on your head, any awareness is positive awareness. So keep it up.
