You dont loose your salvation every time you sin and then have to - TopicsExpress

You dont loose your salvation every time you sin and then have to go back to restore it, because God breaks relationship with you over your every failing. Why is this? 1) God was and is the initiator of restoration. He demonstrated that at the cross. (Hes not a moody teenage girl ;) ) 2) Sin isnt actually rejection Jesus, though it is the fruit of rejection of Jesus. (If you want to get all technical about it, yes, taking of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil also counted as rejection of Jesus because Jesus was revealed in the NT as our true living Tree of Life.) 3) Actual rejection of Jesus would be not allowing Jesus to be the One who covers your sin, restores you, and empowers you to sin no more because the Bible says Hes the ONLY one with the power to save! You have no power in yourself to resist sin, let alone enough goodness in yourself to have ever breached the gulf that used to be between you and God. Rest assured, in that manner, nothing has changed since the time Jesus died or you first accepted Christ.... 4) More often than not, rejection of Jesus comes from a refusal to STOP relying on our own good works and efforts to earn ourselves salvation. We like to control everything and we like to be our own saviours, who build a tower to God, rather than acknowledging God came down to find us. 5) The way of thinking that says my sin STOPS the cleansing power of Jesus is to put ourselves under the OT law system, which by it, sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me (Romans 7:11). Another translation says it slew me. So in the same way taking of Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil enslaved us to sin, once again were looking to our own knowledge of good and evil to make us like God, rather than the quickening power of the cross. 8) Before you freak out too badly, this doesnt mean our recreated spirit doesnt mourn when we miss the mark and that we can go on sinning. It wasnt enough for Jesus to forgive our sins once and for all, He also empowers us by grace (which means a free gift or impartation) and makes us sharers in His own divine nature, which is love, and does no wrong. Righteousness is a free gift to us, both positionally (Im counted righteous) and practically (I can live righteously). 9) Whether we live in it or not, this happens the moment Jesus comes into our heart. We accept this by faith, and from this, we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18). When I behold Jesus and realize Ive been made like Him through His blood, its only then I step out and start to really live, not as myself (through my own strength), but through Christ in me... 10) In a nutshell, my sin no longer has any power to separate me from God, only my refusal to come to Him through the blood of Jesus. Jesus is the ONLY way, truth, and life.
