You hate Unions? Well, this is what the unions did that made us the great country we became. You have a 40 hour work week? Thank unions. You get weekends off or at least one day? Thank Unions. You get some health care from your employer? Thank unions. Some employees get paid sick days. And paid vacations. Why? Because unions fought hard for those BENEFITS which today are commonplace. Certainly Unions have internal problems too. And the Mob infiltrated many of them. But the unions themselves are WORKERS... UNITED... To make the workplace safer and pay a living wage. When Union Leadership becomes powerful enough to hold the employers hostage, there are mechanisms that can be employed to even the playing field like binding arbitration and/or the courts. But make no mistake. Without Unions and the movement, we would all be slaves.
