You have to be amazed at those who confidently assert that there are no proofs for the existence of God. The proofs for God have been around since before Christ. They have never depended on the state of science then, now, or in the future. They are demonstrations, not probabilities. Such probable arguments could not be adequate since they cannot non-arbitrarily address the issue of prior probability. This is just as well since at their supposed best they terminate investigation at postulating polytheistic conceptions of god. But the metaphysical demonstrations proceed by deduction from principles that we cannot not think are true (and thus we cannot be obliged to think of as being otherwise) regarding the reign of causality and contingency. Further, they do prove there is an absolute perfect being that is eternal simple and purely actual, a being worthy of principle worship. Of course, the objection will be that the premises of such proofs will not be regarded as true by everyone but it is also recognized that universal recognition by limited minds is not necessary for truth and thus not necessary to be a sound argument. As in the case of maintaining the proper functioning of our conscience with respect to moral truth, we are ultimately responsible for the proper functioning of our minds with respect to the first truths of ontology and causality.
