Take, for example, two slogans that came to prominence recently. One was “Je Suis Charlie”, the slogan that popped up following the horrific massacre at Charlie Hebdo magazine and which the “progressives” here (and elsewhere) have eagerly wrapped around themselves more tightly than a Cronulla teenager on Australia Day wraps himself in the Southern Cross. Newspapers, TV shows, celebrities, Facebook pages, Twitter monikers and pop stars have all eagerly latched onto this three word slogan with gusto. The other snappy slogan, favoured, as it happens, by those same flag-wearing Cronullans, was “If you don’t love it, leave”. This catchy phrase popped up last year on a T-shirt on a Woolies rack in Cairns. The howls of protest and screams of rage generated by the Twitter-loving “progressives” echoed across the nation until the offending garments were removed (incinerated in all likelihood, like books at a Berlin burning circa 1933) and a grovelling apology was made. Guess what, you dolts?
