You know...I always thought the Christmas season was always so much more fun with youngins in your life. Doing all the fun stuff like going to see lights, the whole Santa thing, creating the whole Christmas...and for the past few years Ive really missed that stuff... Until today... I went shopping to pick up a birthday gift for a 5 yr old boy. Its been so long Ive been in a panic about what to get him. I finally figure out what Im supposed to get him, get to the toy section at Walmart, and have no frigging clue about the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles. The toy dept was a mess, kids crying, parents looking weary, and its not even Black Friday yet. I couldnt find the toy I was looking for. Then, I remembered. That TERROR. The sheer torture of being at Toys R Us in Deptford shopping for two nephews and two step kids..all a year apart in age, and not being able to find the exact specific things they wanted. Not being able to find THE toy of the year. Complete mayhem. Kids and parents alike screaming in the store. And waiting behind 10 people in line at the cashier, when all you really wanna do is run out of the store screaming and throw yourself under the first moving vehicle you see! Parents, I do NOT envy you this year. Im too old for this crap. I will pray for you. Youre gonna need it. This year, I will enjoy the peace and quiet of my cash and carry nephews, online shopping, gift cards, and getting to sleep past 6am on Christmas morning, provided Weeny lets me. Ive finally accepted the next chapter in my life... lol
