You know, I think one of the biggest flaws in Conservative thinking is that deep down they can never envision not being the good guy. They see themselves as the ever diminishing White hats holding firm to the last against the ever increasing Black hats. Granted, when youre middle class (or even better yet, upper class), White, and male; your odds go up exponentially on being on the side of the Sheriff & Posse. However, its all to easy these days to end up on the side of the Outlaws (or even an Outlaw yourself). I guess my point is that its harder to decry power when you always imagine yourself the beneficiary of it (and in the case of some poor many are gullible and still secretly imagine that they might one day be one of the beneficiaries). Its like they all secretly envision a future where America is like one big gated community where the wealthy enjoy their well gotten gains and the Watchmen keep the barbarians from the gate. However, Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
