You know, Ive been taught, and usually found it to be the case, that most dogs found, do really have an owner thats frantically looking for them. But in the last day or so Ive found out thats not the case anymore.. People are really dumping dogs more than anyone knows. I do not know whether thats because they dont have the money, or because they dont want to pay to surrender them, but I wish they would stop. I have found dogs hit by cars, laying along the road, didnt make it, and ones who needed surgery, extensive surgery, because of being hit, and it breaks my heart. I try my hardest to find the ones lost, house the ones found, and find the owners. But when I find out a dog was really dumped it ruins my mood. Most of the dogs found lately have been males, unaltered. PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER.. Did you know that a male dog can smell a female dog in heat for up t 3 miles when weather conditions, wind, ect are right? Did you know that you risk your dog being hit, and killed when not contained when they smell a female in heat, and their instincts take over? Did you know that dogs WILL do things they never have done before? Even if they havent gone wandering before, does NOT mean they wont at any given time. Have you ever had to stand there and watch a dog be hit and killed? Feeling so helpless because you cannot do anything, you already jumped in the road to try to stop the cars to no avail. Have you ever had to pick a dog up that was hit and killed? Its something we NEVER get used to seeing. PLEASE CONTAIN YOUR PETS.. I dont care if you DO live in the country, and your ancestors have always allowed their dogs to run.. There are WAY more vehicles, houses, traffic, and mean people out there now. I love what I do, and I wish I could help them all, but I need YOUR help as well. Thanks for listening..
