You know, a simmilar idea came up in a discussion I was having-er am having at the moment via Fb comments- with Victoria, my cousin, concerning GMOs. I brought it up but didnt elucidate so heres a good opportunity. Ive come across several researchers who before wrigin or when going into deep research went and lived in the deep woods, either in a house or completely backpacking it and they have ALL said the same thing: that in the beginning few weeks, making sure their needs were met was equal to a full time occupation, but once they had established themselves it only took 3-4 hours a day of real work to make sure that ALL of their needs were met. Now during certain periods of seasons in preparing for the next season more work was involved, over all they had more free time than they knew what to do with. Think of the implications here.... Heres what came to my mind.. Imagine if a physician didnt have to take payment for their services as their primary needs of life (food, water, and protection from the elements) were self provided for. They could merely practice and study medicine a for the passion of it! Wed be a happier and healthier world! Or if say, astro-physicists, could be free to come together, collect their own resources and conduct studies without having to worry about funding and having to fulfill the standards of someone not so passionate or understanding of their craft and could simply do it for the passion and curriosity of it. We would have probably colonized the moons of Saturn by now or atleast know concretely that it isnt possible. Sure such things are open for abuse, both just in getting to that point as well as being at that point, but being an idealist, one would hope that we reached such a degree of civilization under wise and enlightened guidance-but whos to say... :0/ Theres alot which would need to be adressed, such as family size and sustainable living without raping all of the resources available, law, barter systems, so on and so forth.... With all of the scientific, engineering and technological know how our civilization posesses if we consolidated our efforts and found common ideals in which to strive for or others willing to assist with the resources at their disposal independant groups and over all lived more simply, I feel we would have a much higher quality of life physically, mentally and emotionally world wide. But then again, it appears that that IS how things were once uppon a time and we are now dealing with the aftermath of actions taken by those with low character....
