You know, back in the day when you came to visit my Grandmother - TopicsExpress

You know, back in the day when you came to visit my Grandmother you couldnt stay under her roof if you were NOT married. She wouldnt tolerate that in her house. These days mothers are letting their teenage daughters boyfriend sleep over, and while the daughter is getting it in....so is the mother. I saw my grandmother cook everything from scratch, manage a garden, clean, in her house the men were ALWAYS served first, and my grandfather always sat at the head of the table. Later when he passed one of my uncles or male cousins sat at the head. Todays Black Woman will look at you like youre crazy if you ask her to iron a shirt. Thats become a foreign language to some of us, but the universal language of pay my bills is easily translated. We want men to still be traditional when it comes to maintaining a household but we huff and puff when it comes to cleaning that household that he is maintaining. We let everyone feed our man but us. We let everyone teach our children but us. We wont serve him his food but we have no problems serving him in the bedroom. We want to be seen as the Queen of our castles but neglect the King. This new age Black Woman seems to think that serving her man his food makes her looks like a waitress, but doesnt realize that when she barters her womb for money(to pay her bills) shes engaging in prostitution. One of my favorite songs is Cater to You by Destinys Child. I believe that a mans house should be his safe haven, where he finds peace. Where hes fed mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Where his authority and his position/role is understood and respected. Im sure a lot of women will feel like thats doing the most and if so, I guarantee youre not doing ENOUGH.
