You know how sometimes you read about how an independent bookstore is closing and you think, Oh, thats a shame? Maybe if its in your home town you may even post the article to Facebook? Another Story, a real bookstore in Allentown--the ONLY real bookstore in Allentown--is in serious danger of closing. Why? BECAUSE NO ONE IS BUYING ANY BOOKS. Friends, please, if you or your loved ones still have any association with this city made famous by the Billy Joel song--birthplace of Michaela Conlin, Christine Taylor, Amanda Seyfried, Keith Jarrett, and Dane DeHaan--please just stop by and buy a couple of books. Thats it. Theyre having a 30% off sale this week, which means you could buy a copy of a John OHara novel usually priced at a dollar for 70 cents. I think even his fiercest critics would agree that 10 North Frederick is worth that. Thanks, and remember, you vote for what you want to see in your community every time you make a purchase. So please ditch Amazon and keep shopping at your (or somebody elses) independent bookstores, record stores, and music stores.
