You know its no surprise that I ended up in this lifetime interviewing for job in Detroit. People are always asking me why Detroit? Why do you want to go to a city thats broke, high crime rate and not such a good public school system. These people have usually never even been to Detroit nor know the history of this great city. In 08 during the collapse of the auto industry I worked at the time at a place that stamped auto parts for Ford and other automakers. I watched a plant go from 1200 or 1500 to fewer then 30 people, I was forced to stand watch as men pushed their toolboxes out of the front door for the last time after 30 years of hardwork men with family to feed and shelter. All this had a direct link to Detroit, furthermore my father would often visit Detroit when I was just a kid picking up wholesale cars and bringing them back to Smalltown Kentucky so people would have a means of transportation getting to and from their work and daily lives. I always wanted to go on a Detroit trip with him but never was afforded the time because of school. 13 years later and I visit the city for the first time chasing an American dream of my own and was astounded if there is one city that represents the American people its Detroit...The city of Love and Labor....Hardwork and Dedication. One day I hope I can stand proud and say.....Detroit Made Me. #MadeinDetroit
