You know, not to sound cliche, but Christmass true meaning has - TopicsExpress

You know, not to sound cliche, but Christmass true meaning has been lost, and somehow price tags have replaced it. The amount of money you spend or gifts you give someone doesnt equal how much you care for that person, and people seem to have forgotten that. I understand wanting to get someone something, and giving it to them for Christmas, but if I get someone one present that I really thought they would like, (even if it was on clearance for cheap or homemade and didnt cost a thing) and someone else gets them ten presents, it doesnt mean that person cares for them more, or I should feel guilty like I didnt do enough. I am just starting to really learn this myself, and it is really easy to get caught up in the brainwashing. I still have tendencies I am trying to get rid of, and things that will pop in my head like, Yeah, but its only one thing, and she might get me more than that, and then Ill feel like crap. The true meaning of Christmas is---again, not to sound cliche---to be merry, happy, and be kind to those you love. Not to compete over who spent the most on one person. I would be just as happy if there were no presents under the tree and no stuff in my stocking as long as my family are happy and safe. Any one watch the old Grinch cartoon? Or the movie with Jim Carrey? The Whos were just as happy with no presents and no tree, because no one they loved was hurt, and they were all together. So everyone, try to keep that in mind, and fight to remember the true meaning of the holiday season. Merry Christmas.
