Congratulations to the amazing Palestinian Photographer Haitham Al Khatib Haitham Al Khatib: After two days spent in the airport in Amman, I’ve eventually reached Italy, and yesterday I went to San Mauro Torinese, Torino, at the award ceremony of the “Scatt…Abili” photo contest, organized by the “Greta e la nuvola” association. I’ve received the first prize of the coloured picture section and the third prize of the black-and-white picture section. I would like to thank Nella Paletta and Maria Vietti from “Greta e la nuvola” association, and the Italian photographers Luciano Gallino, Ermanno Falco, Anna Miletti, who decided to award me. Today, I attended the commemoration about a young black guy killed by racist people in Milano, where I exposed my pictures and held a speech about colonialism, apartheid, non-violent resistance in Bil’in, and how these issues can relate themselves to territorial struggle for social justice everywhere. I would like also to thank Italian people for their hospitality.
