You know the old saying You dont know my story till you walk a day in my shoes?..For two months my mother and I have spent our evenings and weekends at the nursing home with my grandmother..I mean everyday...It is absolutely killing my soul to see what my grandmother is having to go through..I did it with my grandfather 7 or 8 years ago and now Im doing it again..Im not speaking bad of anyone but I absolutely despise nursing homes..When they say it takes the stress off you and they take care of your loved ones...Well thats not always true..We have been MORE stressed since we put her in there..Its a everyday battle to get things done RIGHT and at the end of the day we look like we are nagging them to death..People I believe in Karma..It may not be today..It may not be tomorrow, but you better believe that you reap what you sew..If you neglect and mistreat someone it WILL come back around..It may be you..It may be YOUR grandmother...I have been a CNA for 14 years..I worked in a nursing home for 5 of those years and the other I have worked in home health..I have ALWAYS treated EVERYONE like I would treat my own family..There are many forms of neglect..You dont have to physically put your hands on people to neglect or abuse them...You have your good cnas and nurses and you have the ones who just draw a check..If you dont like working with people your place is NOT in a nursing home..I will not back down..I will not shut up..I will see this through till she takes her last breath..She will be taken care of and will be taken care of right if its the last thing I see through..This is a crying shame to have this much stress on familys..People please listen to me..If you have a loved one in the nursing home and you have one hour out of your day..Go there and check on your family..You will never imagine in your worst day, what these precious souls have to endure..
