You know, theres something magical about someone sitting down with just a pencil and a piece of paper. Now dont get this confused with some bullshit like homework, where a person will perhaps mindlessly take information or formulas from their head and transfer it to paper. But when a person sits down with the intent to create, now THAT is magical. When the pencil becomes an extension of a person and enables them to take IDEAS from their mind and transfer it to the paper, thats where it becomes art. Now, unfortunately I dont have the talent to draw or anything like that with a pencil and paper (even though I made sure to write some lyrics with pencil and paper). But instead of a pencil, guitar is my utensil. With the same concept in mind, the creation of music is...for a lack of better words, magical. And in an era to where theres so many people that perform, in my opinion, guitar homework rather than creation, its sickening. Taking the generic textbook shredding licks or riffs (weather it be metal, pop, or any other genre) is so tiring. It doesnt matter how fast or how difficult or how correct it is....if theres no intent of TRUE creation behind it, its meaningless. Both artists, and the receivers of whatever form of art it is, are at fault for this. Dont accept the same old shit that youve been hearing and seeing. True art, to me, is when someone CREATES. Not regurgitates. And thats it. Experience what true art really is, you wont be disappointed. /end rant
