You know they say everyone has their 1 in a million horse, this - TopicsExpress

You know they say everyone has their 1 in a million horse, this was mine. His name was The Professional, by Senor mex out of Solarium. He was trained by my dad. As a young horse my dad had the vet out to check him and take blood in case he was sick because he was so docile. Nothing phased him. When i was 13 and started to outgrow my pony my dad let me ride pro, the first time i took him for a canter on the track in Milnerton my dad was worried because pro used to flyjump onto the track as he went through the shoot, but with me he quietly walked onto the track then trotted then cantered and stopped with me long before the end and quitely walked back to the yard. He was amazing, on the day of a race i would take him for a walk down the track bareback, i rode him to milnerton beach, did gymkhana with him, tied food to his back and walked him down the road like a pack donkey when i kept him at another stable block a little way from my dads. I will never forget the year we moved to a small holding the long summer days i would spend hacking him out through the bushes on the buckle with not a care in the world. Sadly on 1 August 2004 he broke his leg when i took him on a hunt on the very same track we rode on everyday. Even till the end he looked after me and didnt let me fall. I wish i could have my pro over again, he was my one in a million and we had the most amazing bond. Even writing this 10 years after his passing i still get tears in my eyes
