You know what I cant take? I cant take beautiful father-son moments like in Home for the Holidays when Henry (Charles Durning), touches his gay son Tommy (Robt. Downey Jr.) on the cheek after finding out he has secretly married his longtime partner Jack. I cant take any tender moments between father and son without the faucet just turning on. Caleb and Liam are not home for Thanksgiving but they will be here for a nice long Christmas in just a few weeks. Still we miss them. We have Jonas here for the last Thanksgiving before he goes off to college and we cherish every second. Momma and I look forward to all of our empty nest adventures. But right now, I cant take a commercial, or a movie, or a song, that makes me conjure a memory of some special moment with my boys. Im so proud of the fine young men they are. Im crying right now! ha. I wish I could see them every day for the rest of my life but it doesnt work like that. I guess I didnt understand the bargain when we had kids.
