#IBD HERO: Do you know someone with #IBD who inspires you? We are inspired by @LevJackson Diagnosed with #Crohns at age 15, Lev began boxing as a means to help manage his Crohn’s disease. The training provided positive physical and mental development during his teenage years. He’s taken his love of the sport to achieve the title of World Boxing Council Canadian Featherweight Champion. He’s learned that Crohn’s, although difficult, is not an unmovable roadblock to success in athletics. Since becoming the national boxing champion in his division, Lev has been reaching for another goal that is close to his heart – supporting youth in boxing and other forms of fitness to help combat the challenges resulting from medical conditions, such as Crohn’s. Currently, he volunteers his time running youth fitness programs Eastside Boxing Club and Aprons for Gloves, which offer free mentorship and training for at-risk youth.
