You know what grinds my gears now a days... The idea of tattooing my friends. Not all of them, but most.. Ive kept quiet about it for a long time. Art in itself is frustrating enough, tattooing is not easy, its actually scary as hell. But when a homie says that Im charging too much (when in fact Im underpricing almost every tattoo Ive ever done) for something Ive spent countless hours drawing and erasing and making it worthy of art or tattooing. People dont know that I put money for new sterile supplies, that I have to pay the shop for letting me use their space and provided supplies, as well as paying my bills and make a living . Thats what I count on. Tattooing is my job. Drawing is my job. If people dont like it then do not approach me with any kind of work. I give deals all the damn time and Im still underrated and unappreciated. So from now on, I will follow a specific guideline for tattoo pricing. 60 dollar minimums for any tattoo with the first hour being 60 dollars, and 100 dollars an hour after that. Still, very reasonable pricing for something that will be on you for the rest of your life. Now theres always the friends and family or people u know that will be glad to tattoo you in their kitchen for cheaper. Not that Im knocking it cuz Ive done it, but I think my work is really better than that. Sorry, rant over.
