You know what really irritates me? This may be a little hypocritical here, but the trophy hunting industry pisses me off. I know that may sound strange, coming from me. I have killed an untold number of game animals. Well over a hundred large game, and probably well over a thousand small game. But you know what? Every single one of those served at least one of two purposes. Obtaining meat, which we actually ate, or clearing damaging pests from agricultural property. Yes, I have taken some large bucks, and I have one hanging on my wall. But that was a byproduct, not the objective. There is not a thing wrong with hunting for food or pest control. But breeding, raising, and killing an animal for the sole purpose of decorating your wall is a concept that I find moderately disgusting. Especially rigged hunts where a rich person pays to have a pen-raised buck released into a small, high-fenced plot of land for them to hunt the animal. Theres no sport in that, these people arent doing it for the meat, and its little different than shooting a farm animal. Might as well go kill a cow. As for me, I will do my best to make sure I use every edible part of any animal I take. Killing animals that are neither edible, nor causing a nuisance to the land owners or community, holds no appeal to me.
