You know youre an outsider when a group of folks are talking, - TopicsExpress

You know youre an outsider when a group of folks are talking, about nothing special, really, and you stand and wait to make a purchase. And you stand and wait some more, as you dont want to interrupt their chit chat. And, and after standing even longer, no one looks at you, standing at their booth, face on, for about five minutes. You know youre an outsider when you are standing to ask a question about their product, or make a purchase, and you begin to have a wondering whether they are ever going to look your way, or care, or just have a dislike for you, for reasons unknown or perhaps they want you to go away, and dont need your money. You know youre an outsider when others in town are enjoying their events, their products, their skills, perhaps, and you, are not going to make a showing. How much time should pass before someone at a farmers market booth says hello, smiles, greets you, notices you, anything? I hate being invisible. Its the most awkward thing, to walk away, having been invisible, or so I thought.
