You know youre living in Thailand when, after 9 months of planning your dream house - selecting an architect, designing and revising plans, finding a good builder - youre finally ready to break ground and start the 10-month building process, and along comes a feng shui idiot telling my wife that the next auspicious day is October 23 (assuming the builder isnt tied up somewhere else). Not helped by a few of her superstitious friends, who remind her that a house must be started in March, July or October.
