You may not be too surprised at what I say tonight, because I am going to mention Team Leanne. You see, the five of them first had a calling to do their epic walk. And so it is with the Christian, God calls us to do something special for Him…to live for him and to work for him. Team Leanne knew what they had committed to do, and they started training for it. When God begins to work in a person, He expects them to prepare for that calling and to gradually work towards the target he has set for them. Team Leanne knew their target…100 miles non-stop…the Christians target? Sometimes a lot more than that; it just all depends on what he has called us to. Sometimes it’s a humdrum lifestyle where we think we have nothing to offer; sometimes it’s a life that is just so given over to him that it takes our breath away…these are the two extremes…yet he knows what he wants from us. And in just the same way as Team Leanne trained, they thought it was sufficient for the real journey, and yet by the end of it they were just about carrying each other over that last few yards. It may be the same with God’s people…struggling and so despondent as they move towards that last hurdle. But when I look at both the physical and mental effort put in by these five ladies, how much more reward has the Christian in that ‘giving’ for Christ? Abundantly more! Christian man or woman, boy or girl, give your all for Jesus, he will strengthen you for your journey, and you will be gifted a prize that is exceedingly abundantly more than you can ever ask for or even think of. Give your all for Christ in this world, through your witness, your lifestyle and your behavior, and you will surely do good somewhere along the way! And to those of you who may be holding back from committing to Christ tonight in your lives..I pray that you will let go…and let God work in you.
