You may remember a few months ago the battle my best friend, Min, - TopicsExpress

You may remember a few months ago the battle my best friend, Min, lost to cancer. Its is with VERY heavy heart that I reach out to all of you again...this time for my other best friend...the woman who means the world to me, who knows me better than anyone else...who gave me and my brother life - my mother! Sadly, after five and a half years of battling cancer, my mom is losing this fight, but I hope to celebrate her life the best way possible! Irene Gobenciong is a daughter, sister, mother of two, grandmother and a loving girlfriend. Aside from those banal descriptions, she was also our familys rock and savior, much like her father was before her. She wasnt perfect, she made mistakes, but she loved and took care of everyone around her. Theres nothing much more that could be said more than that. She always did the best she could for everyone. Our cancer experience started just over five years ago and its has been a tumultuous battle since. It started out as stage 4 Appendiceal Cancer, and she went through extensive abdominal surgery that day in May that turned our world upside down. Since then, she went into remission for a couple of years, developed new friendships and lived life to the fullest - even when cancer returned and tormented her. The best part of her story is eventually meeting the love of her life, who has been by her side non-stop for over a year and a half and shown her the love she truly deserves. Unfortunately, after months of declining health and increase in her pain, her chemo was stopped as of last Monday and hospice care began. It has been a rough week for our family, but we are doing our best to spend as much time and make as many memories as we can in the precious time we have left with our rock. I know it is a lot to ask again so soon, but this is my mother and I want nothing but the best for her, as she has given nothing but the best to everyone. If you could please find it in your heart to help, I would be doubly grateful...whether it be by donations, or spreading the word. I beg of you to please think about what it would be like to lose one of the most important people in your life would be like...and thats happening to me twice in a few short months. The loss is unbearable and the only consolation I can imagine is to celebrate her as best as my family can give her...please help make that a possibility. Thank you and I hope and pray none of you ever have to go through this even once in your life!
