You may remember that I recently posted that 16-year old Meggie kitty had blood work done because shes lost a lot of weight. She has been on thyroid medication for several years but the vet thought maybe she just needed an increase in the dosage. Turns out the levels were way off and he doubled the amount of medicine. Im hoping that takes care of the weight loss and the increased thirst. Her kidney levels were perfect so she doesnt have kidney disease, nor does she have diabetes. His only real concern was the titer for corona virus. The test doesnt determine whether she has the disease, just the level of antibodies which indicates exposure. Her levels were off the charts. Not surprising, considering all the strays that enter my house. He was surprised that she has no symptoms, since her levels were so high, but since she doesnt he only recommended an OTC supplement to boost her immune system. Ill say it again...I love my vet. :-)
