You never get paid what youre worth. You get paid what the position is worth. More often than not you never really get fired. Its just that the position you hold is no longer needed and your salary becomes a liability to the company, an unneeded expense. So away they do with the position, and youre out of a job. Everyone will choose their path. I choose the path of holding down a job to pay the bills but working on my own business and buying assets that make money as a long term strategy. When we die, our pension dies with us. But if you own buildings, cash generating properties, businesses, etc, you can leave that to your children.
