You want to know something? I HATE politics. I absolutely, without a doubt, hate that I have to pay attention to politics or the government. We should not have a government that is so intrusive and pervasive that it affects literally every aspect of our lives. Im not in politics because I love it. I dont. I would rather spend every single day of my life scuba diving or playing with manatees in Crystal River, but no. This is what Im doing because one day I hope that government will be small enough for someone else to live that kind of life without fear of losing every freedom. No government should be so big that its impossible to keep up on local, state, and federal legislation, issues, and politics. Love her or hate her, I agree with Ayn Rand when she said, I am interested in politics so that one day I will not have to be interested in politics.
