You wanted to read it once more. So here you go : **************************************************************** Death **************************************************************** What if I cease to exist from now? What if I don’t make the sunrise? Will that change anything? The clock will still be ticking. The morning bread will be as crispy as always. The bus to the office will honk twice just like any other day. Office hours will be a hectic sprint just like yesterday. Everything will just be the same. Only that short message you send to me everyday, will remain unanswered. Will you wait for that? Evening will embrace the sun just like any other day. You’ll fight the crowd to make it to a construct of brick and concrete – we called it home. The water in the fridge will be as cold as it always was. The television will still sell commercials like it always does. Everything will just be the same. Only when you can’t stop chuckling watching our favorite show, there won’t be an echo any more. Will you hear that silence? Only when you shake your head in repulsion, there won’t a pair of eyes silently asking, “What’s wrong?”. Will their absence bother you? Only when you wrap the blanket around you and surrender to the comfort of night, there won’t be a pair of hands - holding you strong, mending the broken pieces. Will you feel that emptiness on your skin? On your life? On your soul? What if I cease to exist from now? What if I don’t make the sunrise? Will that change anything? ©Suman Bhattacharya, 2014 Author Bio: Sumans fiction novel Error Code Love is on its way to be a national bestseller.
