You will be dearly missed: Classmates say Friends of Indian school 11th grader who hanged himself on Sunday pay tributes Dubai: The Indian High School 11th grader who committed suicide earlier this week was warm, affectionate and full of life, say his friends and family. “You made each and everyone of us smile every day and you spread happiness wherever you went with your witty jokes and amazing mimicry of the teachers…. You will be missed my dear friend,” posted a school friend of the teenager on Facebook. Son of an Indian couple from Kerala, he was a science stream student due to appear for his board exams next year. He has a four-year-old brother. “Class is gonna be really boring without you. Why man, just why? (sic),” read another tribute to him. He was in his school uniform when police discovered his body by the service room atop his building on King Faisal Street in Sharjah on Sunday evening. Missing The family had filed a missing complaint with the police after receiving a call from the school informing them that the boy hadn’t turned up for his maths exam. Police tracked him down through mobile phone signals. He had hanged himself. “He left for school as usual at about 11am. He had a maths exam, a subject he was not particularly fond of, but we couldn’t imagine he would do such a thing,” said his aunt who lives with the family. He was not happy with his chemistry paper on Thursday and is believed to have left a suicide note. Students later said that the paper was difficult and one of the teachers was questioned by the police. XPRESS couldn’t immediately verify this as the school management could not be reached for an official comment despite several attempts. The family left for their native Ernakulam on Tuesday for his last rites. A Hollywood movie buff and a voracious reader, he wanted to become an IT engineer, according to his aunt. When XPRESS visited the family home a day after the incident, there were plenty of signs though that he was multi- faceted. One of his murals in the house illustrates his creativity.
