Young Artists@440: Imagined Landscapes PLUS: Preparing for the big exhibition day! Sunday, October 5, 4:40-6:00pm This Young Artist event will be split into two sections, providing us both time to make wonderful art, and time to prepare (as any exhibiting artist must do!) for the upcoming Young Artist Exhibition on October 18th. Part 1: Organizing The Young Artists Show Young artists will choose and title artwork that we have for the upcoming Young Artists Show in the project space of 440 Gallery. If you haven’t been to recent workshops, but you do have art in our files and want to participate, please join us! You can bring other artwork created at the gallery during our workshops--Milagros, colorful cardboard “sculptures,” clay bird, ect. PLEASE NOTE: There is a $30 recommended donation per artist for 2 frames pieces and other pieces in sleeves. Email Vicki (vbehm@aol) or Susan ( phisugi@aol) with questions. Part 2: Imagined Landscapes: This hands-on art workshop is open to children from ages 4 to 12, with supervision by a parent or guardian. For this painting workshop, we will use watercolors to create imaginary landscapes, while surrounded by artist Gail Flanery’s new show “Coloratura.” Her fantastic, colorful, one-a-kind monoprints are inspired by her time spent in wide-open spaces, but aren’t a specific place. Rather, these images evolve from her experience and imagination. Come create your one-of-a-kind landscape from your own imagination!
