Young Muslim leaders in Western Australia say they will not allow the actions of a radicalised minority to cast a shadow over their community and faith. Perth schools and mosques have been hit by graffiti and some Muslims have reported abuse on the street. But a new generation is working hard to smash negative stereotypes and connect with the Perth community. University of Western Australia (UWA) student Sarah Imtiaz considers herself a proud Muslim woman. Were just everyday people who call Australia home, who are going to university, working, paying taxes and trying to live a peaceful and fulfilling life, she said.
