Young People in Education. On the 29th of last month, several of my colleagues and I from Trafford Youth Cabinet met, Nick Hurd MP. A question asking about the governments mandate to reform education was brought up. I personally believe that without at the least a consultation of the people involved, a government ought not to reform policies regarding these people. Nick invited me to write him a letter outlining the vision. Ive drafted this letter and now Im getting lots of people involved to more clearly show that, I believe, the will of young people is largely being ignored. As someone going through the education system myself, doing AS-levels, I really passionately believe that Young People in the UK are really under-represented. We have a voice, we must speak up about matters that are affecting us so deeply, we must not simply be heard - we must be listened to. Gandhi said, to believe in something and not to live it, is dishonest. - this, to me is what democracy is about: the people taking a stand for fight for what they believe in. Especially young people. Therefore, Im looking for all the support I can get in order to make this dream of young people being more greatly represented in society a reality. Ill post updates on this page. Oh and probably a lot of other cool stuffs. Oh I have to stress, Im not interested in party politics right now - Im interested in the People and their will.
